I was a member of the Labour Party and canvassed and worked for them on the island of Anglesey where we lived. I would like to join southport Labour Party. Watching the

Fire in London horrified me. I suggest a fund should be started for the fire men, doctors and nurses, ambulance staff and police. This government do not want to pay the “first responders” even though the government keep saying how well and quick they are on the scene – or what they have left of them after all the cuts. What is your opinion?

I come to the website, full of enthusiasm. I look for Events within 10 miles….there are none. I click on Volunteer, expecting to read about the different ways in which I can volunteer, but no, just a form for me to enter my details, which totally puts me off. I want to be enthused by the website, not disengaged by it.

Hi there, in the “Meet Liz” section, it states “By the way, the leader of UKIP is an ex-Public School financier, so don’t be mislead by his homespun untruths and anti-immigrant propaganda.” This is not true is it? Why has this not been updated? Poor attention to detail gives a poor impression.

Please can you explain your parties lack of resistance to the selling of services at Southport and Ormskirk hospitals to Virgin medical.

Your reply will factor in my decision when voting on 8 June.

Want to campaign for Labour this weekend in Southport! From there originally, have family still there.

Would it be at all possible to have a “vote labour” flyer for my window please? I’ve always voted labour and am originally from the Huyton Ward of Harold Wilson. I’m realistic that probably we won’t win where I currently live but feel obliged for the first time in the 40 years I’ve been eligible to vote to show an outward support for the party. I simply could not bare a return to the Thatcher days as it affected a lot of people including myself detrimentally. I’m at no 25 Chester road

Hi, are there any plans for a rally in Southport? Or possibly a rally in the North West? Perhaps one where Mr Corbyn is expected to make an appearance.

Hi, I live in southport and I want to vote labour, I am a member. Although I’ve been told voting labour in Southport will mean my vote won’t count. Surely that can’t be true?

Hi Ged,

We had a brief chat after tonight’s AGM. This email is just my way of giving you my contact details – even if I am one of the Duke’s tribe.

I need to know of you will be supporting Jeremey during this coup. Taking labour back to where it ought to be, on the left, not as some red tory party is the only reason labour got my vote. And without him labour shall not get my vote again.

Mr Jowett, Southport CLP

As a member of the Labour Party who, like many, is tired of the same bitter Blairites and square-mile-friendly right-of-centre Labour MPs causing disarray around Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership at every given opportunity, often distracting from fractures in the Tory Party or outright scandal (see Panana Papers) – I demand that the Southport CLP and Mr Steve Jowett supports our elected leader (mandate of 59.5%) and deplores the actions of the disloyal MPs who are attempting to mount a coup against the wishes of the Membership.

As a member of many online Labour forums, I can guarantee that if a leadership challenge ensues Jeremy Corbyn will come out on top – making the party look frankly ridiculous for mounting the motion in the first place, and damaging credibility and our chances in future elections. If Corbyn is somehow unjustly left off the ballot, the Labour Party will lose tens of thousands, if not more than a hundred thousand passionate members (and their funding).

Using the EU referendum as ammunition is deliberately misleading. Labour voters were 60%+ in favour of Remain. Young voters over 70% in favour. The MPs mounting the coup all received lower Remain votes in their own constituencies than Corbyn did in his constituency. Labour MPs insisting that he did not fully adopt the Party’s Pro-European stance should first look to the MPs who actively supported the Leave campaign to stand down, before they question an MP who was particularly successful in his campaigning. Alan Johnson lead the Remain campaign, surely if one must point a finger, then it should be aimed at Mr Johnson. As for “unelectable”, I reiterate, 59.5% mandate.

As any supposed reason to hold a vote of no confidence in our leader is so easily debunked, one must assume that the only reason to hold such a vote must be bitterness, and a “screw the membership” attitude to regaining power for neo-liberal “Tory lite” pro-austerity Labour.
