I’m Trevor Vaughan, your Labour Party Candidate for Dukes Ward in Southport in the upcoming local elections on Thursday 4th May.

My family and I have lived in Dukes Ward for 17 years and my children attend a local school here in Southport.

I’ve worked for Vauxhall for 36 years, starting on the production line, I’ve been in management for 20 years. and am currently a Senior Supervisor on the supply chain.

I’m also Employee Charity Treasurer and a Mental Health First Aider. I am Unite the Union Senior Staff Representative, Freeport Combine Chair, Branch Secretary, Equalities Officer, Regional Industrial Sector Committee Representative, National Joint Negotiating Committee Representative, Pension Trustee, Area Activist, Standing Orders Committee member and North West Representative at the TUC Conference in September.

If elected as your Councillor I will be committed to improving our community and town centre by listening and responding to residents concerns. I will support the continued regeneration by Labour-led Sefton Council including the successful investment and reopening of Southport Market, the upcoming construction of the Marine Lake Event Centre (including the creation of a new
theatre, conference, and events space) and The Enterprise Arcade.
