: After a career in the software industry spanning more than 30 years, Bill was elected as a councillor for Norwood ward in 2016.

He is currently a member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee for Regeneration and Skills and was recently the lead member for the Working Group set up for the introduction of selective licensing for private sector rental properties and HMOs.

He has been involved in the campaign to retain the Southport to Manchester Piccadilly rail service and introduced a successful motion at Sefton Council in 2016 to support the retention of that service.

He has pushed through a number of road safety improvements in the ward including introduction of give way lines at junction near Meols Cop station, addition of more speed limit repeater signs and clamping down on lorries using restricted roads in High Park.

Bill is married to Marianne who is also a councillor in Norwood ward. He is interested in economics and specifically in the impact of artificial intelligence and automation on society.
