Recent Boundary Commission decisions mean that Southport’s Parliamentary Constituency boundary has changed.

Ainsdale ward moves out of Southport and into Sefton Central Constituency, while three West Lancashire council wards that were in South Ribble Constituency become part of the new Southport Constituency – Burscough Bridge & Rufford, North Meols & Hesketh Bank and Tarleton Village.

Council boundaries remain unchanged so Ainsdale remains in Sefton and the three northern wards stay in West Lancashire.

Although not ideal, a little confusing and opposed by most local people, we have no choice but to live with these new boundaries.
